The first years of a child’s life are the most important period for his/her cognitive and sensorial development. The brain’s plasticity is determined by the acquired experience at that early age.

We must take into account that learning is a lifelong process and that we always have to try and learn new things.  Keeping that in mind, we must encourage children, from the time of their birth, to take advantage of every single moment. We know that if they are provided with the right instruments, resources and situations for different contexts, it makes a kid’s development more effective. That is why quality education, methodology and a school’s ambiance all play a key factor in developing meaningful and long-lasting learning skills. 

Main elements for their development

The way a kid plays, learns, and talks are indicators of his/her own learning.

Casvi promotes these three main aspects in a very special way.

• Oral communication fosters coexistence and value acquisition. Oral language, either in Spanish or in English, develops the listening skills in order to be able to interact with others. This improves the attention span.

• Non-verbal communication is a way to connect with others: gestures, facial expression, smile, sight... This is important for visual contact, pitch and tone of voice, for expressing surprise, excitement, etc. All in all, it aims at developing the language, empathy and respect towards others

• Body expression, crawling, balance, coordination, hand skills and muscle tone are developed through different activities throughout the school day allowing the acquisition of habits and routines that boost students’ self-esteem and self-autonomy. By and large, all these skills are important in order to develop into a well-rounded human being.

IB methodology

IB constructivist methodology helps us to successfully reach the aforementioned objectives.

Our objective since kindergarten has been to prepare our students for the IB Diploma Programme so that they earn the highest marks, which will, in turn, allow them to choose from a wide array of university programs. 

Another objective is to develop the IB learner profile in our students (inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced).

Kindergarten has all the necessary learning tools to stimulate and develop students' evolution. The aim is to recognize and motivate every child’s capability to strengthen his/her self-esteem, initiative and support all their learning processes.

Investigating, expressing, representing, and sharing allows us to have quality education based on values. We offer education comprised of the best and most qualified professionals.

Body, musical and artistic expression, together with swimming, integrate, in a cross-disciplinary way, our educational model which is based on the IB methodology. It helps our students acquire key skills in order for them to fully develop in a personal, emotional and professional way.

“Tell me and I will forget, teach me and I will remember it, make me part of it and I will learn”. This statement, coined by Benjamin Franklin, also defines our IB methodology. It focuses on the student who becomes an active participant in his/her own learning. Hence, the student ends up learning different values, skills, contents and multiple competencies which will help them not only in their educational stage, but will also prepare them for their future jobs.
